2024 Olympics: Meet the Team USA Women’s Gymnasts Going for Gold in Paris!
Say bonjour to the 2024 U.S. Women’s Olympic Team hoping to stick the landing in Paris.
Although, you’ve likely heard their names before. Four out of the five members on the Women’s Artistic team—Simone Biles, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles and Suni Lee—competed at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
But don’t expect their return to the team final July 30 to feel like a sequel—more of a reboot.
"Déjà vu but also I feel like a little bit like a redemption tour," Biles told Today’s Hoda Kotb in an interview shared July 1. "In Tokyo, we all didn’t have our best performances. So we’re excited to go out there and kill it."
In Biles’ case, she experienced the “twisties,” which she's described as a disconnect between her body and mind, and withdrew from the team final and several other events. Meanwhile, her BFF Chiles—who filled in for Biles during the final—slipped on the floor exercise, and Carey had an issue with her footwork as she ran on the runway for the vault.

So, yes, they’re ready for another chance.
"This means everything to me," Carey noted to the outlet. "I think, like they’ve been saying, we all have some sort of redemption that we want. So it’s just incredible to be sitting here today."
And while the team won the silver, Lee—who battled a kidney issue after the Games that caused her to leave the Auburn University squad early—added, “We want that gold.”

They’ll have another gymnast helping them strive for that goal, too: Hezly Rivera, who is the youngest member across Team USA to be competing at the 2024 Olympics.
“I’m very young, and obviously the girls are veterans that I’m with,” she told E! News earlier this month. “They’ve already been through this experience, so they’re just going to be such great role models for me. I just know that they’re going to be such amazing guides. It’s going to be such a fun experience in Paris.”
And if you're ready to stick the landing as the team's cheering squad, read up on Biles, Carey, Chiles, Lee and Rivera before they take to the mat with the hopes of edging out the athletes from Italy, China, Brazil, Japan, Canada, Great Britain and Romania.
